Choosing Healthy Foods

A lot of people believe that the food that we eat reflects our entire wellness and health. This is the reason why when it comes to eating, I always choose what’s best for myself. Many people believe that eating foods that are highly nutritious is really advised, as such foods can do a lot of wonders to our entire health. This is absolutely true. Thus, I always eat fresh fruits and vegetables, because my parents said they are packed with essential nutrients that the body needs in order to survive.

Aside from being a great source of essential nutrients, vitamins, and minerals, fresh fruits and vegetables are also considered as alkaline foods, thus they can bring balance to our pH level. Studies show that since the body is composed of pH level between 7.35 to 7.45, which is slightly alkaline, people are recommended to eat foods that reflect this same pH level in order to keep its balance. When the pH drops, the body becomes acidic — and this may cause various diseases.

There are plenty of choices for alkaline foods — we can eat fresh fruits and vegetables, nuts, legumes, beans, and seeds. The options are wide, and we can experiment with different recipes in order to make our meals more enticing.
